The KEF R7 Meta is a premium three-way floorstanding speaker that combines detailed sound reproduction with deep, dynamic bass. Positioned at the centre of KEF’s R Series floorstanding range, it delivers impressive scale without requiring the space of the flagship R11 Meta.

Featuring KEF’s 12th Generation Uni-Q® driver array, Metamaterial Absorption Technology and two 165mm hybrid aluminium bass drivers, the R7 Meta delivers outstanding clarity for stereo music and immersive home cinema.

Advanced Three-Way Speaker Design

The R7 Meta uses dedicated drivers for high, midrange and low frequencies. This three-way configuration allows each driver to operate within its optimal range, improving detail, separation and dynamic control.

Vocals remain clear and focused, instruments are precisely positioned, and demanding soundtracks maintain their impact without losing finer details.

12th Generation Uni-Q Driver Array

KEF’s 12th Generation Uni-Q® driver places the tweeter at the acoustic centre of the midrange cone. This allows the drivers to perform more like a single point source, dispersing sound evenly throughout the room.

The technology creates a wide, cohesive soundstage and expands the listening sweet spot, providing consistent clarity across multiple seating positions.

Metamaterial Absorption Technology

The R7 Meta incorporates KEF’s innovative Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT™) behind the tweeter.

Its maze-like internal structure is engineered to absorb 99% of the unwanted sound produced behind the driver. By reducing internal reflections and distortion, MAT helps reveal cleaner treble, natural detail and greater transparency.

Twin 165mm Bass Drivers

Two dedicated 165mm hybrid aluminium bass drivers provide the R7 Meta with powerful low-frequency performance.

Their lightweight yet rigid construction supports accurate movement, while increased driver excursion produces deep, controlled bass. The result is greater impact and scale for music and films without sacrificing speed or definition.

Flexible Bass Reflex Ports

The R7 Meta uses carefully engineered bass reflex ports with flexible walls. Their shape and flare have been developed to reduce turbulence and minimise unwanted resonance.

This design helps the speakers deliver cleaner bass while preventing the port from colouring the midrange.

Engineered for Low Distortion

KEF has refined the R7 Meta’s drivers and cabinet to reduce resonance and distortion across the frequency range. Flexible Decoupling Chassis technology helps isolate the drivers from cabinet vibrations, allowing them to operate with greater accuracy.

This contributes to cleaner sound, improved dynamics and better definition during complex musical and cinematic passages.

Precision Crossover Technology

The R7 Meta’s crossover network integrates the Uni-Q array and twin bass drivers into a cohesive system.

By directing each frequency to the appropriate driver, the crossover supports smooth transitions, accurate tonal balance and a consistent soundstage across the speaker’s entire operating range.

Premium Stereo Listening

Used as part of a two-channel system, the KEF R7 Meta delivers a spacious and highly detailed listening experience.

Immersive Home Cinema

The R7 Meta can also serve as the front left and right speakers in a premium KEF home theatre system.

Combine it with matching R Series centre, surround and Dolby Atmos speakers, plus a KEF subwoofer, to create a seamless and immersive multichannel experience.

Refined Cabinet Finishes

The R7 Meta is available in Black Gloss, White Gloss, Walnut and Titanium Gloss Special Edition.

Each cabinet includes a dedicated microfibre grille with precision-cut openings designed to protect the drivers while maintaining acoustic performance.
