The A-48S packs state-of-the-art Accuphase engineering into the company's most accessible Class A stereo power amplifier. Six parallel push-pull power MOS-FETs deliver 50 watts into 8 ohms, 100 into 4, 200 into 2 and 400 watts into 1 ohm, all from the same chassis size as the model it replaced. Noise is down a further 6 per cent and the damping factor is 1,000, which is why it holds real-world loudspeakers far more firmly than the wattage figure implies.
