Overview
KEF Muo is a portable Bluetooth speaker designed by Ross Lovegrove, with an aluminium body whose sculpted shape takes its cues from KEF's Muon speakers. This latest generation pairs a dedicated dome tweeter with a racetrack mid/bass driver using KEF's P-Flex surround, with KEF's Music Integrity Engine (MIE) DSP managing the output.
It connects over Bluetooth 5.4 with aptX Adaptive, or by USB-C to a laptop, carries an IP67 dust and water rating, and is rated by KEF at up to 24 hours of playback at moderate volume. It can stand upright or lie flat, and its EQ adjusts to suit the orientation.
Drivers and Technology
- 20 mm dome tweeter for high frequencies
- 58 x 117 mm racetrack mid/bass driver with P-Flex surround, a design KEF adapted from its KC62 and KC92 subwoofers
- Music Integrity Engine (MIE) DSP, drawing on algorithms developed for LS60 Wireless
- Two Class D amplifiers: 10 W for the tweeter and 30 W for the mid/bass driver
- EQ adjusts automatically for upright or horizontal placement
