The KEF BL12b Outdoor Bollard Subwoofer delivers powerful, controlled low-frequency performance across large gardens, pool areas, patios and commercial outdoor environments.

Its substantial 300mm long-throw bass driver produces deep, articulate bass with the output required for expansive open-air installations. Full 360-degree coverage distributes low frequencies evenly around the subwoofer, while a nominal coverage area of 200 square metres supports larger landscape audio systems.

A rugged, UV-resistant enclosure, IPX5 weather protection and multiple mounting options make the BL12b suitable for permanent outdoor installation.

300mm Long-Throw Bass Driver

At the heart of the BL12b is a 300mm or 12-inch long-throw low-frequency driver.

The high-excursion design moves the volume of air needed to produce convincing bass in outdoor spaces, where there are no surrounding walls to reinforce low frequencies. Its acoustically optimised enclosure maintains controlled, full-bodied reproduction while reducing unwanted distortion.

The BL12b reaches down to 21Hz at −10dB, adding substantial depth and impact to music and outdoor entertainment.

Designed for KEF Network DSP Amplifiers

The BL12b is designed for operation with compatible KEF Network DSP Amplifiers.

KEF recommends 400 watts of amplifier power and a 170Hz low-pass filter. Compatible DSP amplification provides the crossover management, equalisation and protection required to integrate the subwoofer correctly with other KEF outdoor speakers.

Professional system configuration is recommended to ensure the amplifier and DSP settings are appropriate for the installation.

IPX5-Rated Weather Resistance

The KEF BL12b carries an IPX5 rating, providing resistance against water jets from any direction.

Its rugged, weather-sealed construction protects the driver and internal components against rain, moisture and typical outdoor exposure.

IPX5 does not make the subwoofer suitable for immersion. It should be installed with appropriate drainage and must not be placed where water can accumulate around the enclosure.

UV-Resistant Outdoor Construction

UV-resistant exterior materials help protect the BL12b against deterioration caused by prolonged sunlight exposure.

The subwoofer is engineered to operate across temperatures from −25°C to +70°C, supporting reliable performance through changing seasonal conditions.

KEF has also subjected the design to more than 500 hours of salt-spray testing, making it suitable for coastal environments when properly installed and maintained.

Durable Aluminium Grille

A one-piece aluminium grille protects the upper acoustic section of the BL12b while maintaining a refined appearance.

The grille surrounds most of the exposed driver area, helping bass disperse evenly across the landscape. Its understated design allows the subwoofer to integrate into gardens and architecturally designed outdoor areas without becoming a dominant visual feature.
