High-Performance Network Switching for Premium Audio

The DELA S5 Network Switch is a premium audiophile Ethernet switch designed for high-resolution music streaming and advanced network audio systems.

Building on technology developed across DELA’s S100, S100/2, S10 and flagship S1 switches, the S5 combines seven Neutrik RJ45 ports, four SFP+ connections, selectable link speeds and electrically switchable ports within a substantial full-width chassis.

An NDK ultra-low-jitter clock, DELA Super Clear Dynamic Power Supply and Highly Stable Chassis Construction create a purpose-built networking platform for music servers, streamers, Roon systems and other Ethernet-enabled Hi-Fi components.

Seven Neutrik RJ45 Ports

The DELA S5 incorporates seven Neutrik RJ45 Ethernet ports, selected for their secure fit, high mating accuracy and robust construction.

Each RJ45 port supports:

• 10Mbps
• 100Mbps
• 1Gbps

Selectable speeds allow the network connection to be matched to the capabilities of each connected component.

Four SFP+ Ports

Four SFP+ ports provide flexible connectivity for compatible optical modules and direct-attach cables.

Each SFP+ port supports:

• 1Gbps SFP operation
• 10Gbps SFP+ operation
• Compatible optical network modules
• DELA C1 SFP direct-attach cables

These high-speed ports can accommodate suitably equipped servers, storage devices, network switches and advanced streaming systems.

The four SFP+ ports have a combined maximum supply current of 1.8A at 3.3V. Module power requirements and speed compatibility should be checked before installation.

Front-Panel Link-Speed Selection

Link speeds can be adjusted using the S5’s front-panel controls without opening a browser-based management interface.

The RJ45 ports can be set to:

• 10Mbps
• 100Mbps
• 1Gbps

The SFP+ ports can be switched between:

• 1Gbps
• 10Gbps

Both ends of each SFP connection must use compatible speeds, modules and cables. A mismatch between 1Gbps and 10Gbps equipment may prevent communication.

Disable Unused Network Ports

Any unused ports can be electrically shut down through the S5’s controls.

This allows the active network configuration to be limited to the components currently connected. Disabled ports can be reactivated whenever the system expands or its configuration changes.

NDK Ultra-Low-Jitter Clock

A precision NDK ultra-low-jitter clock supports the S5’s internal network architecture.

The carefully selected clock reflects DELA’s focus on designing network hardware specifically for demanding digital audio systems rather than adapting a conventional office-grade switch.

Super Clear Dynamic Power Supply

The S5 features DELA’s Super Clear Dynamic Power Supply, engineered to balance power quality with the capacity required by its network circuitry and SFP+ connections.

Its universal power input supports 100–240V AC at 50/60Hz, allowing the same model to operate in Australia and other supported regions with the appropriate mains cable.

Highly Stable Chassis Construction

The S5 uses DELA’s HS-CC Highly Stable Chassis Construction.

Its enclosure combines:

• Aluminium top panel
• Aluminium side panels
• Hairline-finished stainless-steel rear panel
• Robust 3mm-thick steel base chassis

This substantial structure provides a stable foundation for the internal power supply, network circuitry and connections.

At approximately 9.5kg, the S5 has the weight and physical presence expected from a premium full-width Hi-Fi component.

Colour-Coded Front Indicators

Front-panel colour LEDs display the communication speed of each active network port.

A light-blue indicator represents the standard 1Gbps setting, while other colours allow different link speeds to be identified at a glance.

The integrated dimmer adjusts the brightness of the operating and speed indicators. Button-section LEDs can also be switched off when required.

Switchable Rear LEDs

Status LEDs positioned alongside the rear network ports assist with initial connection checks and troubleshooting.

Once the system is configured, these rear LEDs can be switched off through a dedicated control.

Power-Only USB Connection

A rear USB 2.0 port supplies power to a compatible accessory requiring up to 0.9A at 5V.

This is a power-only connection and does not support USB data transfer or audio playback.
