The A-80 is the stereo interpretation of Accuphase's 50th anniversary A-300 monoblock. Optimising the ten parallel push-pull power MOS-FETs in the output stage yields 65 watts into 8 ohms, 130 into 4, 260 into 2 and 520 watts into 1 ohm — the classic Accuphase doubling that tells you the power supply is not the limiting factor. Substantial investment in new noise reduction technology gives it a sense of presence and fine detail that few amplifiers at any price manage.
