Overview
The Yamaha WXC-70A is a compact network streamer and preamplifier that adds Wi-Fi streaming, Bluetooth, TV sound over HDMI eARC and extra digital and analogue inputs to an existing integrated amplifier, receiver, power amplifier or pair of powered speakers. It is a MusicCast device, controlled with the MusicCast Controller app and able to join other MusicCast products in a multi-room system.
A rear switch sets it to Pre Amp mode, where the WXC-70A controls volume, tone and YPAO room calibration, or Player mode, where it sends a fixed-level signal to an amplifier that handles the volume. Yamaha uses an ESS SABRE ES9039Q2M DAC (384kHz/32-bit) with its DAC on Pure Ground circuit layout, in the same 220mm wide aluminium enclosure as the WXA-70A streaming amplifier.

- Optical and coaxial digital outputs (2-channel PCM, 48kHz)
- 12V trigger output, remote (IR) input and YPAO microphone input
- A rear switch turns off Wi-Fi, or Wi-Fi and Bluetooth together, for installations
