About the Solstice 8

Overview

The Triangle Solstice 8 is a 3-way floorstanding speaker and the largest model in the Solstice range, which replaces Triangle's Esprit series. It combines a 25 mm magnesium alloy barrel-type horn tweeter, a 16 cm natural cellulose pulp midrange driver and two 16 cm concave paper woofers in a bass reflex cabinet with a laminar vent. Triangle recommends it for rooms of 15 to 50 m², in a Hi-Fi system or a home cinema setup.

The Solstice 8 is sold as a pair and comes in four finishes: Teak, Birch, Black Ash and White.

Design and Construction

Barrel-type horn tweeter: a 25 mm magnesium alloy dome developed for the Solstice range.
16 cm midrange: a natural cellulose pulp cone.
Twin 16 cm woofers: concave paper cones without a dust cap.
3-way crossover: filtering at 250 Hz and 3.7 kHz.
Bi-wire and bi-amp ready: dual binding posts allow bi-wiring or separate amplification for the bass and treble.
Multi-function base: supplied with the speaker, with metal spikes and counter-pins or silicone caps for the floor.
Protective grille: included, one per speaker.
