Dual-Speaker Output with Lossless Connection

The MD-1 features Matrix Audio’s custom gold-plated, solid pure copper speaker terminals for low resistance and reliable connections. The MD-1P takes it further with two pairs of speaker outputs, enabling quick A/B comparisons between speaker sets via IR remote control. FPGA Processing & Dual Femtosecond Clock

A dual femtosecond clock system, designed by Matrix Audio, provides precise reference signals for 44.1kHz and 48kHz sample rates (and their multiples). Combined with a high-speed FPGA running Matrix’s jitter-reduction algorithms, the system delivers pristine timing accuracy and improved audio data integrity. Precision Preamp Volume Control

The MD-1/MD-1P feature a 256-step digitally controlled analogue preamp volume system, supporting adjustments from -80dB to +12dB in 0.5dB increments. This ensures precise control, eliminates the wear-and-tear issues of traditional potentiometers, and maintains perfect channel phase synchronisation at all volume levels.

A 12-step channel balance compensation system further optimises playback, adapting to your speaker placement and room acoustics.

Preamp & Subwoofer Outputs

For system expansion, both models include preamp and subwoofer outputs with synchronised volume control. Low-frequency output (below 150Hz) allows seamless integration with active subwoofers. The MD-1P offers dual subwoofer outputs, ideal for larger rooms. A trigger interface ensures power-on synchronisation with connected subwoofers, maximising convenience.

Built-In Phono Stage
