Matrix Audio element X2 – The Evolution of Streaming

The Evolution of Elements

The Matrix Audio element series has always stood for innovation and forward-thinking design. Now, three years after its original debut, the element X2 music streamer marks the beginning of a new chapter. Acting as a standalone source device, the X2 brings both modern convenience and high-resolution streaming audio to your system. Whether you own a traditional two-channel Hi-Fi or want an all-in-one solution, the element X2 simplifies your setup and elevates your listening experience.

---

Perfect All-in-One Solution

The element X2 streamer DAC is more than a music player—it’s a complete Hi-Fi hub. Play local files, stream high-resolution music online, or connect your favourite analogue and digital sources. With its built-in preamplifier and headphone amplifier, the element X2 can directly drive power amplifiers, active speakers, or high-end headphones.

Key highlights include:

• Analogue inputs for vinyl turntables and CD players.

• HDMI ARC input for superior TV sound.

• Digital connectivity via USB, coaxial, optical, and Ethernet.

• Streaming compatibility with Roon Ready, AirPlay 2, UPnP, Audirvāna, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz, HIGHRESAUDIO, QQ Music, NetEase Cloud Music, and more.

---

New User Interface, New Experience

The second-generation element series introduces a 3.46-inch LCD touchscreen for intuitive control. Rich track information is displayed during playback, while new playback touch keys make navigation effortless. Combined with the MA Remote App, configuring devices and browsing your music library has never been easier.

---

Rich Playback Options – Online & Local

No matter how you enjoy music, the element X2 Hi-Fi streamer has you covered:

• Local playback via USB drives or NAS storage.

• Streaming services such as Spotify, TIDAL, Qobuz, HIGHRESAUDIO, QQ Music, Baidu Cloud, and Internet radio.

• Flexible protocols including Roon Ready, AirPlay 2, DLNA/UPnP, Audirvāna, QPlay.

Your digital library and online streaming platforms are seamlessly integrated into one powerful device.

---

MA Remote App – Total Control

The MA Remote App (iOS & Android) transforms your smartphone or tablet into a full control centre. From browsing music to adjusting settings, you can manage everything remotely. Even when streaming from third-party apps like Roon, track information remains visible. The app also allows you to configure every hardware parameter, redefining the way you interact with your Hi-Fi system.

---

Built-In Preamplifier – Sweeter, Louder, Clearer

With a +10dB analogue gain and Hyper-Control technology, the element X2 delivers high-quality output up to 15.8VRMS. This ensures ultra-low distortion and noise, making an external preamplifier unnecessary. Simply connect to your amplifier for pure, detailed sound.

---

Headphone Amplifier – Full of Power & Detail

The fully balanced headphone amplifier features 8 independent amplification units, paired in parallel to deliver exceptional drive current and low distortion. Even the most demanding headphones are easily driven, with flawless detail reproduction. Just plug in and experience uncompromising headphone performance.

---

Remote Control with Customisation

The RM4 remote offers expanded playback functionality, including track switching, play/pause, and two programmable buttons set via the MA Remote App. Crafted from aluminium and plastic, it is both elegant and comfortable in the hand.

---

Digital & Analogue Sources – All-in-One Integration

In addition to its wide range of digital inputs, the element X2 streamer also supports analogue line inputs. With selectable high, medium, and low gain options, it adapts perfectly to turntables, CD players, and other analogue devices—bridging the gap between digital streaming and traditional Hi-Fi.

---

HDMI ARC – Early Bird of TV Hi-Fi

The HDMI ARC input brings the audio from your TV or projector into the element X2 for superior playback quality. Supporting HDMI CEC, you can even control playback directly with your TV remote.

---

Precision Clocking – Femto Clock Built-In

Digital audio demands perfect timing. The element X2 is equipped with a Crystek CCHD-950 femtosecond clock, dramatically reducing jitter and improving realism and accuracy. With both asynchronous and synchronous modes, you can tailor the clocking to suit your setup.

---

Isolated Power Supply Design

The ARM processor and digital audio circuits have independent power supplies, isolated via optocouplers for maximum purity. The analogue stage benefits from its own linear power supply, ensuring a silent noise floor and transparent playback.

---

High-Speed Network Connectivity

• Gigabit Ethernet for reliable high-bandwidth streaming.

• Dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz/5GHz) for flexible wireless options without clutter.

Your music streams smoothly, even at the highest resolutions.

---

Smart System Integration

With 12V trigger ports, the element X2 can act as a central control hub for your system. Power amplifiers switch on or off automatically, letting you enjoy music with a single touch.
