Warm & Mellow Sound Signature

At its core, the MP-1 employs a fully differential transistor input stage with extremely low noise and outstanding linearity. Its pure Class A high-bias output stage eliminates crossover distortion, while the low-noise ±60V power supply delivers extraordinary dynamic range. A DC servo circuit maintains output offset within 1mV without coupling capacitors, ensuring a flat frequency response and transparent sound reproduction.

Balanced Amplification – United Efforts

The MP-1’s main amplifier consists of four independent fully balanced amplification units. Each channel is driven by dual amplifiers handling both in-phase and inverted signals. Even RCA inputs are converted into bipolar signals, effectively suppressing common-mode noise and enhancing dynamic performance.

Multiple Analogue Inputs

The MP-1 preamplifier supports 3 pairs of RCA inputs and 3 pairs of XLR inputs. Each input can be adjusted independently for level attenuation and compensation, ensuring consistent signal levels across different sources and eliminating sudden volume mismatches when switching inputs.

Flexible Output Options

With 1 pair of RCA outputs and 2 pairs of XLR outputs, the MP-1 can drive multiple amplifiers and speaker setups simultaneously or individually. Independent volume control for each output ensures flexibility when using multiple systems. Audiophiles can even configure a bi-amping mode, connecting four power amplifiers to separately drive mid-high and low-frequency speaker drivers.

The MP-1 employs a resistor array volume control using 64 precision resistors (0.001% accuracy) and 32 sealed reed relays, rapidly switched by an MCU. This design ensures minimal sonic impact, excellent channel consistency, and virtually silent operation, even during continuous volume changes.

Square Copper Wire Transformers & Linear Power

Power is the foundation of audio performance. The MP-1 preamplifier is equipped with dual 60W toroidal transformers wound with square copper wire, offering higher current capacity, lower resistance, and superior transient response compared to conventional round-wire transformers. Paired with MUNDORF M-Lytic AG capacitors, the MP-1 delivers a smooth, refined, and powerful sound signature.

H-Shaped Chassis Structure

Like all M Series products, the MP-1 uses Matrix Audio’s unique H-shaped chassis design. A 20mm CNC-machined aluminium plate forms the central support beam, creating isolated internal cavities for different circuit modules.
