We all know that to have a home theatre sound system you need at least 5 speakers and a subwoofer. We all know that we need a centre speaker. What we may not know is how much work the Centre Speaker is actually doing.

In this short video I explain a few things about Centre Speakers, think about the position and direction of the centre, think about the size and range of the centre speaker, getting this right will make vast improvements overall to your home theatre experience.

Honestly, this was a bit of an eye opener. I generally just ignored the Centre speaker when I’m watching movies, but was always annoyed at the quality coming from my centre speaker (went and got a cheap one, spent more on front Left and Right speakers). Was having difficulty hearing dialogue etc on certain codec’s, kept changing receiver settings to amplify vocals. Thanks for the advice, certainly going to upgrade!.
