Welcoming the addition of Bang & Olufsen

The history of Bang & Olufsen dates back to 1925, when two engineers, Peter Bang and Svend Olufsen, began a modest production of radios in the attic of the Olufsen family home, 'Quistrup'. The company of 'Bang & Olufsen' was founded on 17 November that same year by the two young engineers who shared a passion for radio transmissions. Over the many years we have seen this brand evolve and become known for their luxurious designs, superb craftsmanship, and exceptional sound quality.

Sydney Hi Fi Mona Vale welcomes the addition of Bang & Olufsen to its existing portfolio of brands, and believe that Bang & Olufsen shares the same values as Sydney Hi Fi Mona Vale, that sound and music really matter in people’s lives. Sydney Hi Fi Mona Vale are proud to work alongside the local partners in Australia to help with servicing, and growing a Global & Iconic brand like Bang & Olufsen.

Natural materials, colour hues, saturation, lightness, surface treatments, textures – each of these matter. Having the right material in the right place matters. Together with sound and design, craftsmanship lies deep in our heart and soul. This is how Bang & Olufsen see it. If it looks like aluminium, it is aluminium. If it looks like leather, it’s authentic leather. If it looks like wood, it’s natural wood. They never mimic materials.

It might surprise people that Bang & Olufsen is characterised and fuelled by its collaborative design process. Products and concepts are hatched and nurtured in unison by groups of designers, concept developers, engineers, acousticians and many others. Everything starts with architecture from the birth of any design at Bang & Olufsen, and it serves as preparation before the designers arrive. The magic happens in the meeting between design, acoustics and the entire thinking behind mechanics, hardware and software. The key to their success is the way they collaborate and work as a team with a shared understanding of what the objective is
