DELA S50 Compact Audiophile Network Switch

Purpose-Built Networking for Music Streaming

The DELA S50 Network Switch is a compact audiophile Ethernet switch designed specifically for high-quality music streaming and modern network audio systems.

Evolving from the acclaimed DELA S100 and S100/2, the S50 combines six configurable RJ45 ports, three high-speed SFP+ connections and a built-in Clear Dynamic Power Supply within a convenient half-width enclosure.

Individual port speeds can be selected to suit each connected component, while unused RJ45 ports can be electrically disabled. This makes the S50 a flexible networking hub for music servers, streamers, Roon systems, NAS storage and other Ethernet-enabled Hi-Fi equipment.

The S50 provides a dedicated network connection point for compatible digital audio components, including:

Six Configurable RJ45 Ports

The DELA S50 incorporates six RJ45 Ethernet ports, each individually configurable through the rear-panel controls.

Every RJ45 port can be set to:

• Off
• 10Mbps
• 100Mbps
• 1Gbps

This flexible arrangement allows the connection speed to be matched to the requirements of each network component.

The RJ45 ports are compatible with conventional Ethernet cables, including DELA’s purpose-built C100 audiophile Ethernet cable.

Three SFP+ Ports

Three SFP+/SFP ports provide high-speed connectivity for compatible optical modules and direct-attach cables.

Each SFP+ port supports:

• 1Gbps SFP operation
• 10Gbps SFP+ operation
• Compatible optical network modules
• DELA C1 SFP direct-attach cables

These connections can be used with suitably equipped music servers, network switches, storage systems and other advanced audio-network components.

Selectable Link Speeds

The S50 provides configurable network speeds for both its RJ45 and SFP+ connections.

The RJ45 ports support 10Mbps, 100Mbps and 1Gbps, while the SFP+ ports support 1Gbps and 10Gbps.

The selected speed must be compatible with the equipment, module or cable at both ends of the connection. A speed mismatch between SFP components may prevent network communication.

Electrically Disable Unused Ports

Any unused RJ45 port can be electrically switched off.

This allows the S50’s active network configuration to be limited to the components currently connected. Disabled ports can be reactivated whenever the system changes or expands.

Clear Dynamic Power Supply

The S50 incorporates DELA’s Clear Dynamic Power Supply, derived from the power architecture developed for the MELCO N50 Music Library.

Unlike earlier compact switches that may rely on an external power adaptor, the S50 houses its power supply internally and uses a standard rear IEC power inlet.

Its universal 100–240V AC, 50/60Hz input makes the same model suitable for Australia and other supported regions with the appropriate mains cable.

Convenient Half-Width Chassis

Measuring just 215mm wide, the S50 offers advanced network functionality within a compact half-width enclosure.

Its dimensions allow it to integrate easily into systems where rack or shelf space is limited. The matching silver and black finishes also complement DELA music libraries, optical drives, storage components and other premium Hi-Fi equipment.

Intuitive Rear Port Controls

The rear panel places the speed-selection controls directly opposite their corresponding ports.

This symmetrical arrangement makes it easier to identify each port, select its operating speed or deactivate the connection without using a computer-based configuration interface.

Colour-Coded Front Indicators

Front-panel LEDs display the communication speed of each active network port.

A light-blue indicator represents the standard 1Gbps connection, while other colours identify alternative speed settings.

The front-panel control can dim both the port-status LEDs and the main power indicator to suit the listening environment.

Switchable Rear LEDs

Rear LEDs provide connection and speed information during installation and troubleshooting.

After the network has been configured and checked, the rear LEDs can be switched off using a dedicated rear-panel button.

Power-Only USB Output

A rear USB 2.0 port provides power for a compatible accessory requiring up to 0.9A at 5V.

This connection supplies power only. It does not support USB audio, storage access or data transfer.

The DELA S50 is manufactured in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan.

Each unit is hand-assembled by skilled technicians, reflecting DELA’s focus on precision manufacturing and dedicated network audio engineering.
