The DELA N1 Music Library is a reference-grade digital music server engineered for audiophiles seeking uncompromising storage, playback and network performance.

Building on the acclaimed MELCO N1 platform, the DELA N1 combines a 4TB solid-state drive, precision low-noise power supply, ultra-low-jitter clocking and extensive connectivity within a rigid, vibration-resistant full-width chassis.

It can store and serve a high-resolution music collection to compatible network players, connect directly to a USB DAC, integrate with Roon, and import music without requiring a computer. Whether used as a dedicated music server, USB digital transport or central library for a premium streaming system, the N1 provides a purpose-built alternative to conventional computer storage. 

4TB Solid-State Music Storage

The DELA N1 features a high-capacity 4TB SSD, providing ample space for extensive high-resolution music libraries.

The drive is installed within DELA’s HS5 Highly Stable Solid State Storage System, a specially engineered mounting structure designed to improve physical stability and minimise the influence of unwanted mechanical vibration.

Unlike a general-purpose NAS or computer, the N1 is designed specifically for high-quality music storage and playback.

Purpose-Built Full-Size Chassis

A rigid 3mm stainless-steel chassis and thick aluminium exterior panels give the N1 exceptional structural integrity.

This carefully constructed enclosure helps control vibration while providing the weight and build quality expected from a flagship audio component. Its full-width design allows the N1 to integrate naturally with premium amplifiers, DACs and network players.

Refined Low-Noise Power Supply

The N1 incorporates an upgraded power supply featuring a larger transformer and custom-designed capacitor bank.

Designed specifically for demanding digital audio applications, this substantial power architecture supports stable operation across the N1’s storage, processing and output stages.

Ultra-Low-Jitter Clock Architecture

An NDK ultra-low-jitter clock provides precise internal timing for digital audio operation.

For systems built around a dedicated master clock, the N1 also includes a 10MHz BNC external clock input, allowing integration with compatible high-end clock generators.

Network, USB and Optical Connectivity

The DELA N1 offers flexible connectivity for both network-based and directly connected digital audio systems.

The DELA N1 supports Roon Ready operation through its USB DAC connection, allowing it to form part of a compatible Roon audio system.

It also supports UPnP AV and OpenHome, making it suitable for use with a broad range of network streamers, digital players and control applications.

Twonky and MinimServer2 Support

The N1 provides a choice of established media-server platforms:

SongKong compatibility can help enrich and organise music metadata, making it easier to browse large libraries by artist, album, genre and other musical information.

Computer-Free Music Importing

Music can be imported directly from:

• USB flash drives
• External USB hard drives
• Compatible USB CD drives

This allows CDs and existing digital music collections to be added without transferring files manually through a computer.

The front-panel controls also provide access to essential functions without requiring a separate app or PC.

Automatic Music Downloads

The N1 can detect eligible music purchases made through a tablet or smartphone and automatically download them to its internal storage.

This helps keep the central music library up to date while reducing the need for manual file management.

Intelligent Duplicate Management

A built-in duplicate-elimination function can prevent matching tracks from appearing multiple times within the media-server library.

When files share the same title, size, format and artist information, the system can display only one copy. This feature can also be disabled when required.

Integrated Backup and Restoration

The DELA N1 supports both full and differential backup workflows using compatible USB storage.

Differential backup reduces the need to copy the entire library after every update, while the front display assists with identifying backup dates during the restoration process.

Each DELA N1 is assembled in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, by trained production specialists.
