MA Remote App – Control at Your Fingertips

The MA Remote App turns your iPhone, iPad, or Android device into a central control hub. Stream high-resolution music from services such as TIDAL, Qobuz, SONY Select, HIGHRESAUDIO, QQ Music, and Baidu Cloud, or explore thousands of online radio stations. Even when streaming via Roon or third-party apps, track details are visible within the app. With full control over hardware settings, the MA Remote App revolutionises how listeners interact with their audio systems.

Advanced Audio Features of the MS-1

PCM Resampling & DSD Conversion

The built-in asynchronous upsampling and DSD conversion engine reduces jitter and enhances sonic detail. It can transform all playback into DSD, enriching density and texture, while offering flexible PCM and DSD configuration settings.

IIS-LVDS Digital Output

As a premium audio transport, the MS-1 outputs all playback—including analogue and phono signals—via IIS-LVDS for connection with external DACs, enabling versatile listening experiences.

Analogue & Phono Inputs

Equipped with XLR and RCA line inputs plus a dedicated phono input supporting both MM and MC cartridges, the MS-1 integrates seamlessly with turntables and analogue devices. High-precision ADC conversion ensures that analogue signals are faithfully processed and filtered.

Digital Audio Inputs

With USB, optical, coaxial, and IIS-LVDS digital inputs, the MS-1 functions as a high-end DAC, delivering superior sound quality from computers, CD transports, set-top boxes, and consoles.

MS-1 Pre – High-Performance Preamplifier

The MS-1 Pre incorporates a multi-stage op-amp preamplifier with +10dB gain, dual balanced outputs, and precision resistor array volume control. Supporting outputs up to 16VRMS, it ensures consistency, low distortion, and compatibility with active speakers and power amplifiers. Additional XLR line outputs allow integration with recording or monitoring equipment.

Dual AKM DAC Chip Design

The MS-1 is Matrix Audio’s first product to feature the AK4191 and AK4499 flagship DACs. Arranged in a dual-mono architecture, with separate left and right PCB assemblies, this design maximises signal purity, channel separation, and dynamic range—capturing every micro-detail of music.

Precision Resistor Volume Control

Using 64 ultra-precise resistors and 32 reed relays, the resistor array volume control guarantees channel consistency and minimises distortion. Relay switching is nearly inaudible, even during continuous adjustments.

DPLL High-Precision Clock

A high-performance DPLL clock synthesis circuit generates jitter as low as 45fs, ensuring precise timing across all digital circuitry. For even higher accuracy, a 10MHz external clock input is available.

Connectivity & Expandability

Fibre Optic Network Port

An SFP fibre optic interface provides complete electrical isolation from front-end network devices, reducing interference and ensuring pristine playback. For convenience, an Ethernet port is also included.

NVMe SSD Slot

The MS-1 supports NVMe SSD storage, eliminating reliance on noisy, vibration-prone HDDs. Music files can be transferred via the MA Remote App or accessed through network sharing.

Custom toroidal transformers with square copper wire windings offer superior current capacity, lower resistance, and stronger transient response. Coupled with MUNDORF M-Lytic AG capacitors, they deliver smooth, powerful, and detailed sound.

The unique 20mm CNC-machined aluminium H-frame ensures rigidity, stability, and optimal internal isolation. Each cavity houses separate circuit modules, reducing interference and enhancing performance.
