We were absolutely gobsmacked when we first saw the initial batch of PlenQ hi-fi racks. A perfect balance between design, build quality, and performance had been achieved. A Unique and Sustainable Combination

PlenQ is green by design. Only sustainable materials with the lowest possible CO₂ footprint are used throughout the entire product. Even the production of the carbon tubes has been optimised to minimise environmental impact wherever possible.

What truly sets PlenQ apart is that this pursuit of sustainability also delivered an unexpected advantage: exceptional acoustic performance. Thanks to the refined geometry of the shelves and columns, a PlenQ hi-fi rack has virtually zero influence on sound reproduction, allowing your loudspeakers and electronics to perform exactly as intended.

Advanced Isolation for Hi-Fi Equipment

Beyond durability, PlenQ shelves use a sandwich construction placed under mutual tension, providing outstanding resonance control and energy dissipation.

The carefully selected combination of solid bamboo, carbon columns with a fibreglass core, aluminium interfaces, and polyurethane lacquer creates an acoustically stable foundation for all hi-fi components. When placed on a PlenQ rack, each component is free to perform at its absolute best—without interference, vibration, or colouration.

Shelves – Precision-Machined Bamboo Construction

PlenQ hi-fi furniture is built around 25 mm thick solid bamboo plywood shelves. Bamboo ply is manufactured from solid bamboo strips that are first cooked to stabilise their natural colour. The strips are then glued and pressed under high pressure to form dense, durable sheet material.

Each shelf is cut to size using high-precision CNC machining and finished with a scratch-resistant polyurethane coating. This seamless finish makes the shelves water-tight, wear-resistant, dirt-repellent, and easy to maintain.

Columns – Carbon Fibre Precision

PlenQ exclusively uses carbon (3K cloth) reinforced glass fibre columns. The columns are internally connected using a threaded rod fixed into a custom-made, anchored aluminium insert, ensuring exceptional rigidity.

There are no visible screws, bolts, springs, washers, or nuts anywhere on PlenQ hi-fi furniture. The result is a clean, uninterrupted design where everything fits perfectly.

The 60 mm column is positioned beneath the bottom shelf and fitted with an 8 mm spike and lock nut for optimal stability and vibration isolation.

Precision Assembly & Premium Materials

All visible metal components are manufactured from black anodised 6061 aluminium, chosen for its strength, durability, and refined appearance. Tailor-made aluminium end caps are recessed into the top shelf, maintaining the minimalist aesthetic.

Custom 25 mm spikes, matching 25 mm washers, and precision lock nuts ensure accurate levelling and long-term stability.

And once again—everything fits perfectly.

Intelligent Cable Management

Every shelf is equipped with two uniquely designed cable recesses, allowing for clean, organised cable routing. Power and signal cables can be separated to minimise interference and maintain optimal performance.

The recesses are generously sized to accommodate large connectors and thick audiophile-grade cables, ensuring compatibility with even the most demanding systems.
