The KEF R6 Meta is the flagship centre channel speaker in KEF’s R Series. Designed for premium home theatres and larger listening spaces, it delivers clear dialogue, precise effects and powerful dynamics across a wide seating area.
Its 12th Generation Uni-Q® driver array with Metamaterial Absorption Technology is joined by two 165mm hybrid aluminium bass drivers, creating a detailed and commanding front soundstage for films, television, music and gaming.

The R6 Meta uses dedicated drivers for high, midrange and low frequencies. This true three-way configuration enables each driver to operate within its optimal range, improving clarity, separation and dynamic performance.

A centre channel carries much of a film’s dialogue and front-stage information. The R6 Meta is engineered to reproduce voices with clarity, natural tone and precise placement.
Its wide and consistent dispersion helps viewers hear clearly from different seating positions, making it ideal for larger lounges and dedicated cinema rooms.
12th Generation Uni-Q Driver Array
KEF’s 12th Generation Uni-Q® driver places the tweeter at the acoustic centre of the midrange cone.
By allowing both drivers to behave more like a single point source, Uni-Q disperses sound evenly throughout the room. This creates a wider listening sweet spot while maintaining accurate dialogue and effects placement.
Metamaterial Absorption Technology
The R6 Meta incorporates KEF’s innovative Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT™) behind the tweeter.
Its complex internal structure is engineered to absorb 99% of the unwanted sound produced behind the driver. By reducing internal reflections and distortion, MAT helps deliver cleaner treble, greater transparency and more natural detail.
Twin 165mm Bass Drivers
Two powerful 165mm hybrid aluminium bass drivers provide the R6 Meta with greater impact and low-frequency authority.
Their lightweight yet rigid construction supports accurate movement, while increased driver excursion produces tight, controlled bass. This gives voices greater body and brings cinematic effects to life with convincing scale.
Tonally Matched with the R Series
The R6 Meta uses the same-sized Uni-Q driver array found throughout the KEF R Series. This creates consistent tonal character as voices, music and sound effects move between the front speakers.
Pair it with KEF R3 Meta bookshelf speakers or R Series floorstanding models for a seamless and immersive home cinema soundstage.
Versatile LCR Configuration
The R6 Meta can be used as a traditional centre channel or as part of a complete left-centre-right configuration.
Using identical R6 Meta speakers across the front stage can provide exceptional tonal consistency for dedicated cinema installations and acoustically transparent projection screens.
Closed-Box Cabinet Design
The R6 Meta uses a three-way closed-box enclosure for controlled, accurate performance.
Without a rear bass reflex port, the speaker offers greater placement flexibility and can be positioned closer to a wall or inside a suitably ventilated entertainment unit.
Premium Cabinet Finishes
The R6 Meta is available in Black Gloss, White Gloss and Walnut finishes.
