The KEF R2 Meta is a compact three-way centre channel speaker designed to deliver clear dialogue, precise effects and consistent sound throughout your home theatre.

Featuring KEF’s 12th Generation Uni-Q® driver array with Metamaterial Absorption Technology and two 130mm hybrid aluminium bass drivers, the R2 Meta produces detailed, dynamic sound while fitting comfortably beneath most televisions and projection screens.

Three-Way Centre Channel Design

The R2 Meta uses dedicated drivers for high, midrange and low frequencies. This three-way configuration helps maintain vocal clarity while reproducing music, effects and cinematic soundtracks with greater accuracy.

The closed-box cabinet provides controlled performance and makes the speaker easier to position inside suitable entertainment units or closer to a wall.

Clear and Natural Dialogue

A centre speaker reproduces much of a film’s dialogue and front-stage action. The R2 Meta is engineered to keep voices focused, natural and intelligible, even when music and sound effects become more demanding.

Its wide dispersion also helps maintain dialogue clarity for viewers seated away from the centre of the room.

12th Generation Uni-Q Driver Array

KEF’s 12th Generation Uni-Q® driver places the tweeter at the acoustic centre of the midrange cone.

This configuration enables sound to radiate more evenly throughout the room, creating a broader listening sweet spot and helping dialogue remain clear across multiple seating positions.

Metamaterial Absorption Technology

The R2 Meta incorporates KEF’s innovative Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT™) behind the tweeter.

Its complex internal structure is engineered to absorb 99% of the unwanted sound generated behind the driver. Reducing these internal reflections helps produce cleaner high frequencies, lower distortion and more natural detail.

Twin Hybrid Aluminium Bass Drivers

Two 130mm hybrid aluminium bass drivers provide controlled low-frequency performance and the dynamic impact required for films, television and gaming.

Their rigid, lightweight construction helps them move accurately, producing tight bass and smooth integration with the Uni-Q driver array.

Tonally Matched with the R Series

The R2 Meta uses the same-sized Uni-Q driver array as other KEF R Series speakers. This helps create consistent tonal character as dialogue, music and effects move across the front soundstage.

It can be paired with KEF R3 Meta bookshelf speakers or R Series floorstanding models to create a cohesive home cinema system.

Flexible LCR Configuration

In addition to conventional centre-channel use, the R2 Meta can be used in a complete left-centre-right configuration.

Using matching speakers across all three front channels can provide consistent dispersion and tonal balance for dedicated cinema rooms and acoustically transparent screen installations.

Compact, Premium Cabinet

The R2 Meta measures just 175mm high, allowing it to fit into spaces where larger centre speakers may be impractical.

Its clean cabinet design is available in Black Gloss, White Gloss and Walnut, with a matching microfibre grille included for a refined finish.
