Created for Accuphase's 50th anniversary, the A-300 redefined what the company considered possible from a Class A power amplifier. Twenty parallel push-pull power MOS-FETs in the output stage lift performance 25 per cent over the previous generation, giving large linear output of 125 watts into 8 ohms, 250 into 4, 500 into 2 and 1,000 watts into 1 ohm — textbook constant-voltage drive. The fully discrete balanced input amplifier is quiet to the point of disappearing. Priced individually; two are required for stereo.
